Our film “The Ocean in Our Backyard” won this award at the Canada Shorts Film Festival; Canada Shorts 2017 will take place on Saturday Dec 9th in the elegant Mary Oland Theatre of the New Brunswick Museum. A New Song from My Album “Color of Light”

FOG I am so pleased to tell you about a new song I have been recording for the album. The tittle of the song is Fog.  Since I am adding a World Music flavor to this album,  for this song I am using the Irish Bodhran for the rhythm for a Celtic sound. This has been an exciting process to use new techniques for the creative process. This song has a story line to it and it is the longest song I have written so far besides the composition, Mirror Maze, for full orchestra,  that was featured in a composers forum and played by the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. Music in Film …coming soon!

The Ocean in Our Backyard is a documentary film set to music rather than dialogue. Laurie Lanktree and I have produced, directed and edited this film. Laurie did all of the videography except for one scene that I took. She is the Principle photographer and videographer for the film and she has a keen eye for it. Five of my songs were used in this film. We have entered several film festivals and hope to make it public soon. Our mission in the film: In this short film we enjoy the beauty of the ocean with film photography set to music.
